Honoring Hawaii's Fallen Service Members February 19 - 26, 2023

For the first time in the 13-year history of Tribute to Fallen Soldiers Northwest, our organization will be traveling to the Island of Oahu ( Hawaii ) over the dates of February 19 - 26, 2023 to honor ( 25 ) of Hawaii's fallen service members.

Like we do on the mainland during our cross-country Tribute to Fallen Soldiers Memorial Torch Motorcycle Ride, we've put together a schedule of at least ( 25 ) Fallen Soldier Home Visits on the island of Oahu for fallen service members that have Hawaiian roots or ties.

While we're taking the exact Honor Visit protocol to the island of Oahu, there will be some noted changes, specifically how the Tribute to Fallen Soldiers group will be making these scheduled visits.    While some of our riders / group members will be shipping their motorcycles to the island, the majority of the group will travel to each Honor Visit on Oahu via Charter Bus or arranged transportation.   Not typical of a tribute honor visit, however it's something we're excited to do.

Partner Hotel

Tribute to Fallen Soldiers Northwest has partnered with The Astin Waikiki Beach Hotel to act as our exclusive hotel partner during our week-long stay.

The Astin Waikiki Beach Hotel has agreed to partner with Tribute to Fallen Soldiers Northwest during our stay and is offering the exclusive nightly rate of $129 per night, along with other complimentary hospitality items.

Gold Star Visitors

Each morning prior to the ride processions departure, a 'Daily Ride Briefing' ( DRB ) is held to discuss that days route, the timing of the route and Gold Star family visits for the day.   The 'DRB' is typically scheduled for 7:50 AM.  These 'DRB's' are extremely important with valuable information for all participating riders in case they incur any unforeseen incidents, break downs or other ride delays.   This allows all riders the opportunity to learn where the ride procession ends its day so they're able to rejoin the ride.

Note;  The ride procession as a whole does not stop for these types of incidents so it's able to remain on schedule.  The ride procession has a dedicated 'Tail Gunner' who is directed to stop and assist all rider incidents or delays.  The Tribute Ride Tail Gunner is Wayne Abernathy.  Please take the time to meet and get to know Wayne in case any incidents do occur.

The ride procession departs each morning at 8:30 AM.

Each travel day ends at approximately 6:00 pm

Daily Ride Briefing

While we encourage all riders to enjoy this incredible cross country experience, we can't emphasize enough how important it is to get your rest each and every night.   The days are long, ( approximately 12 hours ) they're also hot, humid and emotional and require a good amount of daily rest.  Because of these daily elements and the emotional toll involved, we encourage all riders to take care of yourself physically and emotionally by getting enough rest at the end of each day.
